Oxygen and blood
What is EBOO? A plain-language guide

EBOO stands for extracorporeal blood oxygenation and ozonation. In simple terms, blood leaves the body through a sterile tube, passes through a specialised circuit, meets a controlled oxygen-ozone mixture and returns to circulation. Filtration may be added depending on need.
The four steps
- Venous access. A sterile tube is placed into a vein.
- Extracorporeal circulation. Blood moves through an external circuit.
- Controlled exposure. The blood meets medical oxygen and ozone at a set concentration.
- Return. The treated blood goes back into the body.
Why screening matters
EBOO is a procedure, so it needs sterile technique, controlled protocols and clinical monitoring. Not everyone is suitable, which is why the doctor reviews your history before any session.
